Local Kitchen Designer WINS AUSTRALIAN DESIGN AWARD
Dynamic Brisbane Kitchen Designer, KIM DUFFIN of Sublime Cabinet Design was awarded the highly coveted “ HIA AUSTRALIAN KITCHEN DESIGNER OF THE YEAR ” award for 2006.
The announcement was made during the Housing Industry Association's annual Australian Housing Awards held at the Brisbane Convention Centre on Saturday 6 May 2006 . Over 1800 members attended the night that has capped off a very successful year for this innovative designer. Over the last 12 months, Kim has won over 13 design awards which include Kitchen Designer of the Year for Queensland and Bathroom Designer of the Year for North Queensland . Kim says “This year the standard of designs entered by other finalists was very high. Competition was fierce particularly from designers representing the southern states.” “This award shows that the kitchens being designed in Brisbane and Queensland are up there with Australia 's best,” he said. “In Queensland we have our own unique style that sets us apart from the rest!” Mr Duffin now has the opportunity to represent Australia internationally. His winning kitchen design was judged against some of the world's best Kitchen Designers in February 2007. He was awarded second overall with the entrant from the UK taking out the coverted 2007 International Designer for Kitchens awards held in London.
About Sublime Cabinet Design and Kim Duffin
Kim completed his Joinery Apprenticeship in Toowoomba in 1995 and has over 17 years experience in the building sector and specialises in innovative Kitchen & Bathroom design and manufacture. Sublime Cabinet Design was established in November 2005 after Kim felt that there was a need in South East Queensland for a cabinetmaker to offer kitchens, offices and other commerical project that were not only stylish but functional while maintaining superior workmanship and design. Kim is a Certified Kitchen and Bathroom Design and holds all relevant licenses required to design and manufacture Kitchens and Commerical Projects to Australian Standards.
